Chace Breitmoser
David Breitmoser, GJG (GIA), president of Lakewood Jewelers, is the full-time on-site Graduate Jeweler Gemologist. He is a native of Jacksonville, alumnus of The Bolles School and holds a business management degree from the University of North Florida.
Chace Caven Breitmoser, David’s wife and vice-president of Lakewood Jewelers, is also a native of Jacksonville and is an alumna of Bishop Kenny High School. She holds a BA in English Writing from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind. and an MA in publishing from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England.
David spent 10 years working across the southeastern U.S.—as well as working in Bali as a consultant, supervising the production and quality of inventory shipped to the U.S.—before staying put in Jacksonville. He wanted to open his own store in a location where he could settle down, provide customers with quality service and be a trusted resource for their jewelry needs.
Chace spent 10 years living up and down the East Coast—and in England—enjoying a varied career in communications. She never thought she’d return to Jacksonville…but she’s sure glad she did!
Our Meet-Cute
Upon moving back to Jacksonville, Chace became friends with David’s sister, but it would be more than four years before she and her now-husband met. In a move slyly maneuvered by David’s sister, the couple was introduced in 2008 at Downtown Jacksonville Art Walk.
Married since 2012, David and Chace are humans to spoiled cats and two 23-year-old turtles. With one niece and four nephews to also spoil, they love being near family and friends.
Their Credentials
David is considered a master jeweler—he is expertly skilled in most, if not all, jewelry skills, including design, drawing, engraving, hand building, soldering, wax carving and setting. He is also skilled in working with all precious metals, including platinum, gold and silver. As a master jeweler, he is trusted with the most valuable and difficult jobs and performs them with ease.
Chace has worked in book publishing, advertising and marketing as a production project manager for companies such as Doubleday/Random House in New York City, Island Press in Washington, DC, Community First Credit Union in Jacksonville as well as St. Vincent's Foundation, First Tee and Florida Blue. In addition to running the business side of the store, Chace’s communications background, along with connections to designers and printers, enables her to direct the marketing and social media aspect of Lakewood Jewelers.
